Newton's original work on the theory of gravitation presented in the Principia, even in its best translation, is difficult to follow. On the other hand, in the literature of physics this theory appears only in fragments. It is because of its intellectual beauty that the author decided to compile all those fragments and present this theory in its complete version. The framework is made up of the following three milestones: (a) setting up the differential equations that describe planetary trajectories; (b) linearising these equation; and (c) providing their solution.
