Mechanics / Electrodynamics

I was napping with my dog Rocky, upon the couch this afternoon, and upon waking I mused over physics I had been researching earlier today. I was trying to access the actual amount of pressure that is exerted by one pascal, which is purported to be one newton force unit, per one square meter. To know this, requires the knowledge of how much effort or work is put into displacing a one kilogram body of matter a one meter distance, in one second, as pushing it. It is said the newton value is a derived unit, which I assumed meant it was calculated mathematically, probably to get more accuracy... to minimize friction, temperature variation, and partial vacuum conditions, which always exist.
